WHO WE ARE
Tsaghkadzor is a famous tourism center especially for those who love skiing. The Tsaghkadzor Ropeway is located on the slope of Mount Teghenis, equiped with a chairlift that has five stations and more than a dozen of ski runs. From the height of 2819m, where the fast chairlift will take you in 32 minutes, every corner of Armenia is visible at a glance. Moreover, in clear weather, it offers a breathtaking view of Mount Ararat.
In 2004 the ropeway has been completely replaced by a new, modern one by an Italian company «LEITNER». The first station has 4-seat chairlifts, the rest (up to the fourth) have 2-seat chairlifts. It is possible to change from one station to another without removing the equipment. Now both the ropeway, and the skiing runs armed with the best equipment guarantee active and safe recreation to tourists and fans of mountain skiing. You can also find cafes, bars, rescue services, the services of first aid and training services for novice skiers at the Tsaghkadzor Ropeway. All this becomes a perfect in combination with the delightful nature and the clean air of sunlit Tsaghkadzor.
THE SLOPES
Tsaghkadzor is located in Kotayk region, and is a cozy resort town with a population of 1700 people. It is located on the eastern slope of Mount Teghenis, 1840m above sea level.
It takes only 40 minutes to get to the resort from Armenian capital Yerevan. The highway, leading from Zvartnots international airport to Tsaghkadzor (75 km), is in excellent condition.
To the north and south of Tsaghkadzor mountains, covered with forests, stand. From west to east the town is crossed by Tandzaghbyur river, which falls into the Hrazdan flow – Marmarik river.
Tsaghkadzor boasts exciting ski pistes, respectable hotels and chic restaurants. Here you can relax, socialize and pay tribute to a good cooking and your own charming habits, like having a jug of beer and a football match or smoking a flavored cigar after dinner. And of course, Tsaghkadzor is a paradise for skiers, who come here especially to taste the drive, going down the magnificent mountain slopes. Pistes for all levels of complexity start from the Teghenis top, where you get by means of modern rope-way quick as a wink.
Most trails are suitable for beginner level skiers and snowboarders. For best snow cover and weather we recommend skiing in February, although you can ski from end of December to early April. There are excellent conditions for off-piste skiing and snowboarding.
